I Want You Back - Jackson 5 / Bass Cover #1 by Joe
Thought I would make some bass cover videos and this is my first one. You must forgive the video quality, framing and editing - I promise I'll improve...

MOTU UltraLite mk5 Screensaver

Just bought this very beautiful audio interface and am putting it through it's paces for the first time. The screensaver is wonderful and an absolute stroke of genius by the manufacturers! I am tempted to video it for an extended period, or at least until it hits the corner perfectly (if it does!), but I've got a studio to run!

#6. Building the Band in the Bedroom. Demo Walkthrough of Ronnie Jones' "Why Don't You Stay?"
Переглядів 1,2 тис.4 роки тому
In this episode, we look over the first basic demo created for Ronnie Jones' song "Why Don't You Stay?" - this will form the basis for the finished production and is a vital first step. You will notice I use a pretty old version of Logic (I still do) and absolutely refuse to upgrade until my trusty 2009 Mac decides to retire... Next video to follow this week!!!

Meet the charming Ronnie Jones. This video series shows you how Ronnie's song "Why Don't You Stay?" was recorded, in a tiny home studio and on a budget of almost zero.

Meet the lovely Diesel. His song 'Colour Me Red' has popped up all over the internet being mixed by various people, but this video series shows you how it recorded in the first place. In a tiny home studio and on a budget of almost zero.
#2. Building the Band in the Bedroom. Studio Tour. What Gear Do I Need?

A little look round the modest surroundings of my own little studio, Joe Public Studios. Don't be fooled by the size of the studio: it's not what you got, it's what you do with it that counts!

Wishing I could do that for my videos😊
I'm impressed 😊
Kick that camera 😂
I think that might be the first time when he figured out how to swing the swing himself!
@@joelonsdale * youtube is great. Now that memory is not stuck in a box on some storage device. It's seen!🫠
Creating memories 😊
That little guy is 18 now and a great big man! He's still adorable though....
Chicken nugget mixer😅
It's just a plain old smoothy with the top of the blender removed - I was hypnotised by it for several minutes 😂
Not the greatest sound quality, sorry! Just focus on the hunky men instead 😅
Ate lol the sound effects in the back made it ten times better!😭✋✋💀
Waves sounds better than everything else tbh
I'm not going to totally disagree! I think it has the most obvious "analogue" flavour and sounds great!
nice work Joe, I am also a musician and know the time and effort it takes to nail a song like this. Nice to see we can find some common ground.
This is one of those times where you get what you pay for!!! Hardware by a land slide 🛝
A landslide? What exactly are you hearing in the hardware that makes it win by a "landslide?" I'm genuinely curious.
Yeah I agree From what I’m hearing It seems like the nebula preamp plug-in With Opal Oh yes, probably the best sounding LA2A a set up in the box … now that’s gonna be a little DSP heavy but that’s gonna be the closest you’re gonna get to tele Tronics unit
I'll be honest, I don't care about getting close. Close to what? Every LA2A sounds different and every source material is different, but odd interesting you see what you are getting with hardware and how close software gets (easily close enough for me).
I dare you to put that against Nebula Opto 32 and UVI Opal.......
This video was probably made in 2015/16, the CLA2A was probably the most popular emulation at the time, probably still is. I'll try those recommendations...
Great cover, and nice tone too!
Hugely appreciated! Once I've figured out camera angles and video editing, I'll post a better version where you can see what I'm doing!
Wow wow wow this is perfect man, thats definitely one of the songs I wish I could cover but Im just not there skill wise but all I would say is you need to make this a UA-cam short people love this song and I know this would get loads of views, but great video and I’m excited to see more
Thanks BassMan! That's nice of you to say. I haven't made a Short before but that'll be my next attempt... I need to find a better camera angle and a video "style": you have that DOWN :)
Mikle jaksun
Thanks Shwuff, I can always rely on you!
This is my first Bass Cover video and it's pretty bad, but I will improve, promise! I hope you enjoy my playing even if the video and my face are frankly disturbing ;)
don't worry about all those things! it sounded great and coming from another bass player it was pretty good and don't worry about your face you look fine
@@ikaika-fg5zd Thank you ;)
You did a good job Joe! Keep it up!

What?😂
They do simple moves and everybody freaks out but when they do hard skills nobody cares 😅
I still remember you from the Harry 5k assembly😂
Hahaha! Yes, that was a very popular video!
Originally part of a wider MSc project. A 20Hz - 20kHz logarithmic sine sweep treated with: 1) No processing (clean) 0:00 2) Hardware LA-2A (evidence of harmonic distortion) 0:26 3) Software CLA2A (evidence of complex harmonic distortion and some aliasing) 0:47 4) Logic Compressor (evidence of simple harmonic distortion and lots of aliasing) 1:09

Logic Compressor seemed to me that it has too strong compression - that is, I want to say that it works more aggressively compared to Waves. Waves showed themselves very well, the difference with teletronics is minimal, but there is - I personally thought that teletronics - works softly with an attack on the bottoms, Waves with low frequencies somehow sound differently, maybe it makes sense to play around with the Hifreq fender
I agree, although I would happily use any of them. (and I do)!
